Baby's Development: Week 34: Baby Settles into Birth Position

Baby's Development

Your little star now weighs about 2 kg (4.4 pounds) and measures approximately 45 cm (17.7 inches) from head to toe! If you're having a boy, his testicles should be descending from the abdomen to the scrotum. Even if only one has made the journey before birth, the other will follow suit by his first birthday. The baby’s skull is still quite soft and pliable, which is essential for the birth process, but the rest of their bones have hardened, providing strength and structure. Your little one is quite the waterworks now, urinating almost 500 ml a day! This fluid passes through their kidneys and contributes to the amniotic fluid, keeping them afloat and cozy. Your baby now weighs approximately 2 kg and is about 42.5 cm (16.7 inches) long. If you're having a boy, his testicles are now moving into his scrotum. Your baby is snug against the wall of the uterus, making their presence known with every kick and stretch. Regardless of their final eye color, many babies are born with blue eyes. Their true eye color might not be evident for years to come. It's a beautiful mystery unfolding!
