Your baby's eyes are beginning to open! The part of the brain responsible for vision is now active, and the eye structures are almost complete. They weigh just over 760 grams (1.68 pounds) and, with legs extended, should be close to 36 to 37 cm (14.2 to 14.6 inches) in length. The baby is still somewhat wrinkled from floating in the amniotic fluid. They are likely to sleep more during the day and be more active at night. Your baby will gain about 450g (1 pound) over the next month. They can see light and shadows. Your daily activities may not feel like rocking to you, but the amniotic fluid cushions the baby, so all they feel is gentle swaying. The baby's crown-to-rump length is 24 cm (9.4 inches), and they weigh between 850-1000 grams (1.8-2.2 pounds). They have a strong grip and are able to cry (though without sound yet).
